FAQ

Below is a list of frequently asked questions. If you still have questions after reading the FAQ, please email me at hello@sarahturnernutrition.ca.

What is a holistic nutritionist?
A holistic nutritionist provides food and supplement recommendations and lifestyle practices— including stress management and sleep hygiene—tailored to your specific needs. Ours is a whole-body, preventative approach to health. As holistic nutritionists it’s outside of our scope of practice to diagnose or prescribe.

What services do you provide?
I currently offer 1-1 nutritional coaching online.

How does the process work?
Firstly, you can book a free 15-minute discovery call to see if we’re a good fit to work together. In the call, we will discuss any health concerns you may have and where you may need support. Once you’ve confirmed that you want to work with me and booked an appointment, I'll send you the Client Intake Form and Client Contract via Practice Better. Please take the time to fill them out before our initial consultation, so that you can get the most out of our time together. After the initial consultation, I’ll send you a personalized health plan, which we can discuss in your follow-up appointment (usually booked 1-2 weeks after the initial consultation).

Are your services covered by insurance?
Some insurance providers offer holistic nutrition in the insurable services they cover. It may be listed as:

• Registered Holistic Nutritionist
• Holistic Nutrition Practitioner
• Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant, or
• Holistic Nutrition Counselling/Coaching

Some providers offer a Health/Flex Spending Account, which may be applied to holistic nutrition services. It is your responsibility to confirm with your insurance provider that my services are covered by your insurance policy (please do so prior to booking your appointment). I can issue you a receipt, which you can provide to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

What can I expect us to work on together?
We will work on your health goals and any health issues you want to address. After our initial consultation, I will send you a personalized health plan based on your health goals, health concerns, any time constraints, family obligations you may have, etc. I am also available by email for questions and/or concerns.

Do you provide the materials needed for our sessions?
I will provide you with a meal plan or menu bundle, resources, and a personalized health plan.

How many sessions will I need?
That depends upon your goals and your needs, but the average is an initial consultation and 3 follow-ups. Of course, I’m available for additional follow-ups and support as required.

What payments do you accept?
Credit card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express). Payments are processed by Square. I require payment in full upon booking your appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for appointments. If less than 24 hours notice is given, the session will be charged in full and there will be a 50% cost for a make-up session.

How far in advance do I need to book?
Once you confirm that you would like to work with me, please book the initial consultation 1-week in advance to allow time for you to fill out the Client Intake Form, to arrange payment, and for me to review your forms and prepare questions and resources for you.

Do you host workshops, webinars or "Lunch & Learns"?

Yes, I'd be happy to host a workshop at your workplace. Please email for more information.

What are your credentials?

I'm a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) in 2022. I am a member of the CSNN Alumni Association. I have a professional background in writing and editing and experience volunteering and working in several community foodbanks.
